During the Anglo–Boer war, guarding Boer Prisoners at the Cape became a security problem and the decision was taken to build Prison Camps on St Helena. This book incorporates much new information retrieved by the authors from the St Helena Government Archives about the period when the Boer Prisoners of War were housed on the island. Their further extensive research has given a fuller picture of the Camps, the prisoners, the British Forces guarding them and the postal activities during the period, including identification of the postal censors and details of the incoming and outgoing mails.
